Allow us to provide you with a little food for thought about disposal maintenance.  The same substances that clog drains, can also be hard on your garbage disposal.  Did you know that potato peels create a drain clogging starchy paste? Did you know that coffee grounds and eggshells get stuck to any sludge in your pipes?  Here are more items to avoid.

• Don’t pour grease, oil or fat into your disposal or drain.
• Don’t grind fibrous materials like corn husks, celery stalks, and onion skins. They can tangle and jam the motor!
• Don’t turn off the motor or water until the grinding is complete.
• Don’t grind glass, plastic, metal, paper, bones, or anything solid or non-biodegradable.
